Lesbian Couple Seeks Donor

We are a lesbian couple in Columbus, OH and we are ready to begin our family. I am mixed, though primarily African American and my partner is African American. Single Woman Who Will be a Great Mother is Looking for a Special Donor

I'm straight, and I've been very happy with my life. I've always assumed that people just meet "the right person" somewhere in the course of being busy and happy. It hasn't happened, but I am still a happy and secure single person. I still want very much to be a mother. I'm looking for someone who would like to help me by donating for AI.

Here's a little about me:

I've thought about adoption and I know I would cherish a child who came through adoption. I may also adopt someday. Something in me wants to carry on my family bloodline and I am looking for a donor who wishes to do the same but is not looking for a life partner. I am open to your wishes regarding contact with me or participation in the child's life (none, or some) but financially the child will be my sole responsibility.

Here's how I plan to raise the child:

I am planning to be a single mother, taking complete legal and financial responsibility for the child. I'll be parenting within my loving, multi-generational extended family setting. The child would grow up in a family that values the land, values art, values learning, and values people from all cultures yet is deeply rooted in our religious tradition -- not exclusionary or bigoted, but rooted. He or she will be treasured by me, a grandmother, and a wonderful variety of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The child will know the security of belonging and also the joy of doing for others.

Here's what I would hope for in a donor:

I would hope the donor is willing to travel to a clinic (I will pay all expenses) where I will have AI. (We can arrange it so you need to travel only once even if multiple attempts at AI are required.) The donor I hope to hear from is highly intelligent, a thinker, honest, free of drugs and tobacco, not a heavy drinker. He has a family history of mental stability and is free of STDs. Sexual orientation is not important. Race or ethnicity is not important. I am white but a multi-racial child will not "stand out" uncomfortably from his or her peers in our diverse environment. Actually, I would really like my child to have multiple heritages, for reasons I can articulate as we communicate.
